The Radio Society of Okinawa provides Emergency Services to the community in conjunction with host nation civil authorities and the United States Military. During Typhoon Condition 1 thru Condition All Clear the RSO members activate the Amateur Radio Emergency Services Net to provide communications connectivity between the local camps on Okinawa. Voice communications are maintained on Mhz Simplex with PL 71.9 encode and decode, plus Packet communications are carried out on Mhz Simplex.

| 2 | Destructive winds of 50 knots or greater are anticipated within 24 hours. Secure your facility |
| 1 | Destructive winds of 50 knots or greater are anticipated within 12 hours. DoDDs Schools are closed. Make final check of food, water, and other supplies. |
| 1 CAUTION | Destructive winds of 50 knots or greater are anticipated within 12 hours; actual winds, including gusts are 34-39 knots. Close facility |
| 1 EMERGENCY | Destructive winds of 50 knots or greater are occurring. Facilities closed. |
| 1 RECOVERY | Destructive winds of 50 knots or greater are no longer being experienced; however, winds of 34-39 knots, including gusts are occurring. Preselected SP/CE damage assessment and emergency repair teams begin operations. All other outside activities are prohibited. |
| STORM WATCH | The typhoon continues to move away from Okinawa, and winds are gradually diminishing. There is still a possibility of danger to personnel due to storm unpredictability, or from hazards created by previous high winds. |
| ALL CLEAR | All tropical cyclone danger has passed; however, be alert to possible damage and hazardous conditions. Condition 4 will stay in effect between July 1st and Nov 30th. |
