I downloaded some software the other day that prints out great circle maps from anywhere in the world. One can use either prefix or Lat/Lon to define the center point. I have an old 386 and Epson dot matrix printer and they printed out just fine. It does require Windows 3.1 or greater. The file name is and can be downloaded via FTP from . It gives Mercator as well as azimuthal equidistant maps that are EXCELLENT, with terminators and auroral ovals. The auroral ovals are based on TIROS/NOAA satellite data and show the variations with UTC and magnetic activity (Kp-index). The program costs $25 US and may be obtained from: Peter Oldfield 251 Chemin Beaulne Piedmont, Quebec J0R 1K0 Canada Just tell Peter I sent you and he'll give you prompt attention. 73, Bob, NM7M ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (note sent in after this summary was published) From: k4sb@avana.net Date: Fri, 20 Dec 96 23:52:14 PST Great bunch of information, but your zip code locatation is the lat/long of the PO.
