Was It Cold at Smithville???

WELL...it wasnt hot!! But the trading and swapping was. Pretty much action for a cold day in.....Bastrop County. Had fun and saw lots of folks. Present were representatives of many Texas Groups, the 7213 bunch with Photos courtesy of Don Janota, and many great friends. Thats what makes hamfests special. Sadly one of the friendliest was gone, Dr. Joe Juliano was released from his diabetes HELL just a while back, we will miss him but continue to celebrate his life.
The temperature was deplorable for us old guys, but we heard rumors of heat, and maybe a move to later in the year to help weather conditions too. All in all it was great to see people from ALL OVER TEXAS and probably a few other spots. If you bought anything from me, the warranty is now over!! hihi...Next BIG DEAL is Midland Texas. If you have never been, youre missing a good ole bigun!!Hope to see you there and if not there then the Next weekend at Claremore OK, for the Tulsa Fest. Spring Hamfests Comin' Up--Let GO!!

Finally, hamfest season is upon us. ADA, OK this weekend and its a good one, unfortunately , family illness has stopped my trip. But next weekend is Smithville Texas and Ill be there!! Then in March, theres one in HOUSTON on the 3rd, that I dont know anything about. Long way from here, but the next weekend is MIDLAND Texas, a hamfest over 50 years old that is not to be missed!! The next weekend, Mar 17 is Claremore/TULSA OK, and Ill be there, its big and its good!!! Followed by Weatherford Texas on the 24th of March...Pretty busy March!! THEN the BIG TEXAS SHOW, Belton on the 14th of April. Maybe this Spring one will spring back , has been a little slow. ALL YOU NEW GUYS, needing first radios, please give me a holler or an email anyway. I have had much difficulty finding good buys on radios lately, I presume it is becaues of the influx of new guys coming right away, with the ending of the Code require ment...Looking foreward to meeting all the new guys. 73 for now. THE LATEST STORY SAYS HE IS CHANGING HIS CALL TO KE4CB, dont know if thats rumor or fact....Sent me an amp that looks like it was dragged behind a truck. Meters out, top front and sided all beat to hell...Described as a decent looking amp...It does put out power but no one would buy it, paid over fair price for it. He is a crook..check him out on QTH and QRZ or just google his name...Youll see, watch for KE4UOF from Coral Gables
