Filters for Yaesu Radios
Yaesu FT-1000MP and Mark V
See what else we have to offer: We have a noise reduction mod for the FT-1000MP. It consists of a small 70MHz I.F. amplifier which boosts the gain a few dB. The 455 kHz IF gain setting in menu item 9-1 is then reduced to compensate, and the radio's internal hiss is greatly reduced. The byproduct is increased sensitivity of 2-4 DB in noise floor reduction. We also have a Roofing Filter mod which has a steep sided, 4 to 5 kHz bandwidth filter plus an amplifier which makes up for the filter insertion loss. This mod has much of the benefit of the I.F. mod and in addition it reduces the close in IMD. This is particularly important for stations with big antennas or stations which regularly receive loud signals. We have also developed a keying mod for all versions of the MP which reduces the key clicks substantially. Radios manufactured after late 2004 do not need the keying mod.
